SECTOR 2A AT SNOHOMISH CASCADE ASSOCIATION
7:00 PM TUESDAY August 4, 2009
CALL TO ORDER / APPROVAL OF MINUTES
- Bill Steenis called the meeting to order at 7:15pm. Present were Bill Steenis, Steve Yandl, Trina Coleman, and Duane Oord. Homeowners present Margo and Tom Mooney
- Trina Coleman presented the Minutes from the July meeting. It was moved and seconded to accept the minutes as read. Motion carried 4 – 0.
- Quickbooks has been cleaned up and all excess names have been removed.
- The balance in the checking account there is right around $41,076 with about $3,000 outstanding. There will be $68,651 in the CD(long term fund). In the operational reserve fund there is just under $23,744.
- Projecting out to the end of the year we should finish the year with about $1,500, this is because we have budgeted some money for legal expenses.
- Preschool Request
- Margo Mooney and Tom Mooney came to ask for the boar to review her request for having an in-home preschool.
- The ACC denied the request due to the volume of cars that would be coming through the neighborhood and parking on the street in front of the house.
- The request stated the number of children the state license would allow, not the number of children they intend to have. Margo clarified that they do not have the intention of having 12 children. Currently there are 6-7 children signed up and five are all day. Also they will have valet service so parents do not need to leave there car and children will be escorted by the teacher from the car to the house.
- Also the hours were chosen as to not interfere with Totem Falls children commuting to school.
- The board will review the amended request when received and get back to the Mooneys with a decision.
- Kelly Morrison sent a request for approval to cut a maple tree that is obscuring the streetlight and the PUD tree will remove it. Steve will send an approval for the removal of the tree. He also sent a request in regards to a tree in the greenbelt area behind his home. Someone needs to go and take a look at the tree to see if it truly hazardous. Bill will go and take a look.
- Sun Room Request
- We will ask Sherman Knight for his advice in regards to the approval of the request.
- There is a disagreement among board members if this structure falls within the parameters of the CC&Rs.
- Yard of Merit
- The program is going well. We had fewer homes this past month.
- We could always use more judges. Maps are available on Bill Steenis’ front porch.
- Rentals
- Warner – The house is currently on the market and the tenants are still in the house. The house has an offer and is pending inspection. The attorney for the Warner’s sent us a letter stating that Jason would pay a $100 fine and sign a confidentiality agreement to not disclose the amount of the fine paid. It was moved and seconded to not accept Jason’s offer. The motion passes 4-0. It was then decided that Sherman would write a letter informing the attorney that the offer has been rejected.
- Guimont – No new action has been taken.
- Sharma – No new action.
