MINUTES OF THE MONTHLY BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

SECTOR 2A AT SNOHOMISH CASCADE ASSOCIATION

7:00 PM   TUESDAY    February 2, 2009

 

CALL TO ORDER / APPROVAL OF MINUTES

  1. Bill Steenis called the meeting to order at 7:15pm.  Present were Bill Steenis, Steve Yandl, Trina Coleman, Duane Oord, and Joyce Bowen.
  2. Steve Yandl presented the Minutes from the January meeting.  It was moved and seconded to accept the minutes as read.
TREASURER’S REPORT

  1. We will finish up the year at about even in our operation fund. This is less than where we have finished in prior years due to the legal expenses.
  2. As of 2/2 there is $33,517 in the checking account.
    1. We have taken in 140 checks to date. This on track compared to year’s past.
    2. There are 109 voted in favor of the budget and 5 against. We have received very little comments from any of the members.
    3. We have received 96 proxies.
    4. There is about $9,500 outstanding in expenses.
MAINTENANCE

  1. There is nothing new to report for maintenance.
  2. Skinner is now a certified arborist.
  3. When the weather is consistent we will have Skinner paint the new fence panels.
ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL COMMITTEE REPORT

  1. CC&R Violations
    1. There have been no violations during the past month.
  2. Project Requests
    1. Robert and Melinda Austin want to put an addition into their home. They were sent a letter of approval.
    2. Cheryl and Jeff Hines submitted a request to add a room addition to the back of there home. A letter of approval will be sent to them.
OLD BUSINESS

  1. Yard of Merit
    1. We are looking for someone to take over the Yard of Merit Program. This position does not require the person to be on the board.
  2. Rentals
    1. Warner – It will cost us roughly $300 to file a counterclaim against the Warners. We will notify Sherman to contact Warner’s attorney and then file a counter claim. This will give the message to Warner that we are serious about this matter. There is no statue of limitations on when we need to file this.
    2. Guimont – We will ask Sherman to schedule the deposition with Melissa Withey.
NEW BUSINESS

1.     South Snohomish Little League has contacted us in regards to using the field for practice and games. They have listed us on their insurance paperwork.

2.     The Easter Egg Hunt will take place Friday, April 2 and Saturday April 3.
