CALL TO ORDER / PRESENTATION OF MINUTES
SECTOR 2A AT SNOHOMISH CASCADE ASSOCIATION
7PM TUESDAY JULY 2, 2013
CALL TO ORDER / PRESENTATION OF MINUTES
- Steve Yandl called the meeting to order at 7:08pm. Present were Steve Yandl, Joyce Bowen, Nicole Klages, Duane Oord and James Person.
- Minutes of the June 2013 board of directors’ meeting were unanimously approved.
- Steve Yandl reported we have $85,070 in checking, $5,689 in the operational reserve and $51.678 in long term capital replacement reserve.
- The audit is essentially complete. There were no significant problems. Reports from the auditor should be available to the board before the next meeting and a copy will be loaded to our web page for review by the membership.
- Jim Person reported on the status of the fence. We have a set of pictures on CD of the problem areas that could be reached. We’ve charged Skinner Landscape with clearing vegetation to allow full access to the fence by Town and Country Fence or other interested parties. Steve Yandl will contact Town and Country Fence for a quote on the chain link fence we need on the north border of our NW detention pond and then let the fence rep (Kirk) know about Jim’s participation in the maintenance committee. We will have their modified style fence for replacements that bring the lower horizontal board up off ground level for better longevity.
- Jim had Skinner identify where all the sprinkler shutoff valves are so he could shut down the system if there is a problem during off areas. Jim still wants to collect more information on the system as built.
- We discussed the option of a lighter watering schedule at the boat park and tolerating some dormant grass during the summer.
- Steve Yandl updated the board on Silver Lake Water and Sewer District’s nearly complete work at their Reservoir #2 in the middle of our subdivision based on info provided by their general manager.
- Nicole Klages reported there is some very obscene graffiti painted on the inside of the boat toy. The board was in favor of refunding Nicole for any cleaning materials she needed if she was willing to attempt cleaning it off. She will attempt to get it done and report back. We will still pressure wash but that won’t remove the graffiti.
- We discussed the litter problem at the boat park and what the likelihood was that it was the Little League that was the major problem.
- Steve Yandl reported that several of our chronic problem yards were cleaned up, presumably by nearby neighbors. Letters will be sent, even in cases where the house is likely to be a foreclosure situation but we may not get positive results in the short term.
- Steve Yandl reported that the Weed house was purchased at foreclosure by LV Investments. Committee will watch to make sure this doesn’t end up a rental.
- Joyce Bowen asked that we consider pressuring Tim Key to bring his yard into compliance.
- Steve Yandl briefly reported on the facebook group, ‘Gold Creek Area Peeps’ which is administered by a homeowner in The Falls. It basically functions as a neighborhood bulletin board. It’s an informative and fairly active group but the HOA is not involved as a participant.
