SECTOR 2A AT SNOHOMISH CASCADE ASSOCIATION
7 P.M. TUESDAY NOVEMBER 3, 2020
Because Governor Inslee ordered residents to stay at home in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, this meeting was conducted using Zoom, hosted by Steve Yandl. Most reports were distributed in advance by email.
CALL TO ORDER / PRESENTATION OF MINUTES
- Matt Hale called the meeting to order a 7:08pm. Present on Zoom conference were Steve Yandl, John Alleman, Tanya Edwards David Divoky and Bill Steenis.
- Matt asked if there was any feedback on the annual meeting held by Zoom in October.
- Minutes of the October 2020 meeting (annual HOA meeting) were reviewed and approved.
- Steve Yandl reported on current financial status.
- Currently $62,617 in the checking account (operational funds).
- There is $16,930 in the long-term reserve.
- We have $5,710 in operational reserve.
- As soon as practical in 2021, $40k will be transferred from checking to the long-term reserve.
- We discussed the fact that renewal of our directors’ and officers’ insurance was paid electronically at the insistence of our insurance agent (reason was COVID-19 restrictions and challenges). This is contrary to our duel signature on every check policy, but the particulars of the transaction were shared with the entire board.
- The proposed budget was discussed and accepted. It will be posted on the HOA website for review by members before they are asked to ratify it. Assessments will remain at $450 per year.
- The audit of 2019 finances still needs to be requested.
- The dead or diseased trees reported by Skinner Landscape have not been cut down. None present an imminent hazard so the work will be done when it’s convenient.
- Someone did some excavation on the greenbelt trail behind John and Missy Alleman’s property. John did some restorative work to preserve the trail and to try and prevent future problems with a tree that had large roots exposed.
- Homeowner request for projects.
- Kunst – Replacement of garage door that includes a row of small windows was approved.
- Inquiries, possible future requests.
- Pelroy – Inquired on vinyl fence as an option – response was no.
- Saadi – Inquiry on acceptable replacement roof shakes.
- Bennett – Camper trailer parked in driveway for extended period. Letter sent and acceptable request for a short-term variance was granted.
- Mendoza/Orozco – Letter sent on curbside parking that partly obstructs traffic movement in cul-de-sac.
- Abukhder/Aboumattar – Letter sent on lack of landscape maintenance and a metal shed. Landscape beds were weeded and shed is either removed or not visible. A new letter is being sent regarding a tree at the corner that has grown to obstruct visibility for crossing traffic.
- Morrisons – Letter sent on curbside parking of a truck for too long. Problem remedied.
- Brown – Camper trailer parked curbside. Letter sent and problem corrected.
- Holtgeerts – Shed follow up.
- Honeycutt – Trailer follow-up.
- Day – Boat parking follow-up.
OLD BUSINESS
- We were contacted by a new contractor interested in providing new climbing toys for our tot area. Tanya Edwards reported that she had contacted him and provided some information but though he seemed eager to take an order he has not gotten back to her with more information. She has also contacted the contractor we have been working with and it appears their price increases for 2021 will be modest.
MEETING ADJOURNED AT 7:41PM.
