SECTOR 2A AT SNOHOMISH CASCADE ASSOCIATION
7 P.M. TUESDAY DECEMBER 1, 2020
Because Governor Inslee ordered residents to stay at home in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, this meeting was conducted using Zoom, hosted by Steve Yandl. Most reports were distributed in advance by email.
CALL TO ORDER / PRESENTATION OF MINUTES
- Matt Hale called the meeting to order a 7:04pm. Present on Zoom conference were Matt Hale, Steve Yandl, John Alleman, Tanya Edwards Nicole Klages and Bill Steenis.
- Minutes of the November 2020 meeting were reviewed and approved.
- Steve Yandl reported on current financial status.
- Currently $59,005 in the checking account (operational funds).
- There is $16,930 in the long-term reserve.
- We have $5,710 in operational reserve.
- As soon as practical in 2021, $40k will be transferred from checking to the long-term reserve.
- Steve Yandl is preparing to mail invoices and budget ratification ballots to the membership for arrival at approximately the beginning of 2021. Dues will remain at $450 per year.
- The audit of 2019 finances has been requested and will commence as soon as the bookkeeper is able to provide records to Josanne Eisenman the auditor.
- New Skinner Landscape contract with a 3% increase has been signed.
- Homeowner who has been in CA since February presented themselves at the Yandl house wondering where the key to their new mailbox was. After a bit of research, it turns out their adult daughter who had been staying at the house had received the key and it was located.
- Homeowner request for projects.
- Reynolds – After moving across the street, Jill Reynolds proposed a plan to completely redo the front landscape except for lawn. Removal of current bed plantings and trees was approved and general guidelines for new landscape was discussed. Jill will seek approval for significant plantings or other changes.
- Inquiries, possible future requests.
- Pelroy – Inquired on the process for getting paint color approval.
- Vehicle in front of 6921 150th Place SE – Email complaints received regarding a supposedly dilapidated vehicle stored curbside. The complaints came from two separate individuals, neither being a resident of our subdivision. [Vehicle was moved the day after the meeting]
- Three houses in the vicinity of the Yandl house have new roofs going up and none requested approval. All were checked out and since they were all using Presidential TL shakes, no action will be taken.
OLD BUSINESS
- Steve Yandl shared concerns that staffing issues at Snohomish County resulting from COVID restrictions were making it significantly more difficult to track ownership changes in the neighborhood. So far there are workarounds, but they are much more labor intensive and confidence that we catch all transactions is diminished. Tanya Edwards indicated she would reach out to contacts at Chicago Title to see what techniques they might be using to keep address information current.
- Bill Steenis asked about the status of the holiday decoration award program. We need to contact Jill Kreeck (had been doing the judging for several years) to see how many serviceable signs we have and whether she wanted to judge this year. Bill Steenis, John Alleman and Matt Hale indicated a willingness to assist with judging to keep the program going.
- We agreed to spend up to $400 to replace signs that were no longer serviceable so that an appropriate number of awards could be handed out this holiday season.
MEETING ADJOURNED AT 7:45PM.
